Big Lake is the Reagan county seat. It is mid-point between San Angelo to the East and Ft. Stockton to the West.
The city took its name from a lake once filled by spring-fed water, now it is the largest dry lake in Texas.

Our walk started at the Renaissance
style 1927 courthouse with lots of historical markers.

Memorial to Florene Miller Watson, a local WWII hero.

Seat. This is the 1903 County Jail
from Stiles. Slight detour from walk route.

This Park was created to commemorate
the deputy who died while attempting to
apprehend a suspect in 2012.

The owl is hard to see on the water tower.
